ELECTRIC BREAKER SWITCHES

The P-40's breaker switches, on the right side of the instrument switchboard, are of two types: ARMAMENT (on the left) and MISCELLANEOUS (on the right). The N model has two MISCELLANEOUS switches; all other models have three. Turn on the MISCELLANEOUS switches for all engine operations.

The ARMAMENT switches must be used when firing and must be off at all other times. Starting from the left, the first three breaker switches control the guns and the fourth controls the gunsight. (The P-40 N has only three ARMAMENT breaker switches-the first two for guns, the third for the gunsight.)
