SEATING

The pilot's seat in all models except the N can be raised or lowered by a small lever on the right side of the seat.

A safety belt and shoulder harness are attached to the back of the seat. Fasten the shoulder harness to the front of your belt by pulling it over your shoulders, suspender fashion, and hooking it to the clasp in the center of the belt. Keep your harness and belt fastened at all times during flight.

The shoulder harness has two positionslocked and unlocked. When it is unlocked you have freedom of movement in the seat (within the confines of your safety belt). To strap yourself firmly in the seat, lock the harness by pressing a small lever on the left side of the seat forward. Your harness must be locked for all takeoffs, landings and aerobatics. To unlock the harness, push the locking lever backward.

A fire extinguisher is under the seat, and a first-aid kit is attached to the side of the cockpit on the right side of the seat.

LIGHTING

Two movable spotlights, one on each side of the canopy tract, illuminate the cockpit. They are controlled by a rheostat on the instrument panel. In models up to and including the M, there is a movable fluorescent lamp on the left side next to the instrument panel. This is controlled by a rheostat next to the spotlight rheostat. There is a light in the compass for easy reading.

HEATING

The cockpit heat regulator, on the right side of the instrument panel, moves from FULL COLD to FULL HOT or stops at any point between the two. Release the spring-loaded handle by turning counter-clockwise, move to point desired, and re- lock by turning clockwise.
