The P-40 is a conventional modem fighting plane. It has no bugs and no tricky, unusual, or undesirable characteristics in takeoff, landing and flight. Remember, it's not. a trainer. It's fast, powerful, and responds quickly to controls. It's a combat airplane, which means it was designed as a flying gun platform. Consequently, it was made highly maneuverable. For a fighter, it's very stable in flight, but its stability depends on you. You must fly the airplane every second, from the time you start until you cut the engine off after landing. You cannot doze at the controls of a P-40.
