In case of a normal spin, follow
this procedures:
1. Retard the
throttle.
2. Apply full opposite
rudder to stop the turn.
3. Push the stick
forward to build up normal diving speed.
4. Don't use the
ailerons against the turn, because this has a blanketing
action on the rudder surfaces.
5. Pull out of the dive
smoothly. Do not hurry the airplane, or it will snap into
another spin.
NOTE: If you are unable to break the
spin, and if sufficient altitude remains, retard
the throttle completely, and take your hands and
feet off the controls. The airplane ordinarily
recovers by itself in two or three turns
|
You lose about 1000 feet per turn in a spin. Recovery
takes about 2000 feet after the airplane stops
turning.
