THREE THINGS TO REMEMBER:

l. If the engine stops firing return the mixture control to IDLE CUT-OFF

2. Never run the booster pump if the engine stops firing and the mixture control is not in IDLE CUT-OFF.

3. Stop the engine immediately if the oil pressure doesn't register at least 15 psi within 15 seconds

OVERPRIMING

If the engine does not fire because of overpriming, turn off all switches and pull the propeller through two or three complete revolutions. When you start again, be extra careful not to overprime.

If flame comes out of the exhaust stacks while you are starting the engine, shut off the electric fuel booster pump, put the mixture control in IDLE CUT-OFF, open the throttle wide, and keep the engine turning over, with the starter until the flames stop. If the engine should start with the throttle wide open, close the throttle immediately-before adjusting other controls.

STOPPING THE ENGINE

1. Apply brake treadles and set the parking brake.

2. Hold the stick back and run engine up to approximately 1300 rpm for 5 seconds.

3. Pull mixture control to IDLE CUT-OFF and slowly advance throttle to full open.

Note: If engine does not stop, return mixture control to AUTO RICH and idle at 1000 rpm until engine cools. Then repeat stopping procedures.

4. When the propeller stops rotating, turn the ignition switch to OFF. Turn generator, battery, breaker, and radio switches to OFF.

5. Call in a loud voice, "Switches off!"

6. Release brakes.
